This project involves working with a major utility company to provide cultural resource services, providing the required compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, and plans and permits associated with the respective capital projects to which the in-house consultant is assigned.
PanGIS staff have provided interpretation guidance to a utility company Principal Cultural Resources Specialist, Project Managers and/or Environmental Compliance Lead(s) in regards to cultural mitigation measures and implementation. In addition, PanGIS staff coordinates with environmental contractors’ Environmental, and to QA/QC Project data and cultural resources related data; supports the management of cultural resource reporting requirements, reviews preliminary and final designs from engineering; coordinates with cultural resource consultants and design teams for fieldwork as-needed, ensures standards regarding cultural resources management practices and confidentiality requirements are upheld, communicates and coordinates directly with archaeological specialists as needed, and attends meetings with the utility company staff as needed.
