John Day Project Data Reconciliation and Site Summaries

John Day Project Data Reconciliation

Project Overview:

United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Portland District and the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA)  under the terms of the 2009 System wide Programmatic Agreement (SWPA) for management of historic properties affected by operations of the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) requested cultural resources research and studies involving data that has become outdated due to additional surveys identifying additional sites within the Project boundary.

Scope of Work:

PanGIS PI led a team of qualified staff to identify data discrepancies between the Corps’ site data, and the Oregon Archaeological Records Remote Access (OARRA) and Washington Information System for Architectural and Archaeological Records Data (WISAARD). Staff summarized John Day site information in a tabular format, applied Jenevein (2014) monitoring criteria to archaeological sites and summarized the results of the work in a report.
