Holcomb Valley Historic Mining District GIS Mapping

Holcomb Valley Mining District

Project Overview:

Southern California Edison (SCE) Doble Circuit Grid Reliability and Maintenance project is located on the San Bernardino National Forest. SCE is proposing to replace 385 wood poles with light weight steel poles; replace, remove, and install 200 anchors and down guys; and re-conductor the overhead 33kV line along the Doble Circuit.

Scope of Work:

PanGIS archaeologist and GIS specialist mapped archaeological sites and the historic mining district of Holcomb Valley.  Holcomb Valley is a California Historic District, noted for its abundant historic and prehistoric sites. Geospatial tasks included the production of geodatabases of cultural resources within the project area in compliance with NEPA and NRHP on the project that includes Federal, State, and Private property. The level of examination and study further also satisfied the Project review requirements of CEQA.
