Archaeological Survey for the Navy Coastal Campus Sewer Force Main Project

Project Overview:

As part of the construction of the Coronado Coastal Naval Base, a series of upgrades to the Navy’s utility lines were necessary, including improvements to wastewater service. The new conveyance system, including a 6-inch diameter sewer force main as well as a wastewater storage facility, needed to be constructed. The purpose of the environmental studies was to provide constraints information to assist the City of Coronado in its compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

Scope of Work:

PanGIS was retained to complete the Cultural Resources Study which included an archival record search, intensive ground survey of the project area, GIS mapping, DPR site record forms, and the technical report.  Mitigation measures that were in place were reviewed and revised by PanGIS Senior Archaeologists based on findings of this study.
