Archaeological Survey for Intrusive Inspections, Sidewalk Stamps in North Park

Project Overview:

Markers known as sidewalk stamps indicate the original San Diego contractor or business that constructed the sidewalks in the neighborhoods throughout the City of San Diego. Dates for the construction of infrastructure in San Diego can be determined through the name on the stamps. SDGE required assistance in providing constraints information for compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

Scope of Work:

A survey of existing pole locations were inspected and surveyed for cultural artifacts by a team of qualified archaeologists at PanGIS. A total of 47 sidewalk stamp sites in originally poured markers in concrete were identified and recorded.
