In 2004, she received a Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from California State University. As a gallerist for 15 years, she showcased local and international artists at Jill Thayer Galleries at the Fox, Bakersfield, California. Larry Kappen: After receiving his M.A from Cal State Long Beach, Larry Kappen moved to Santa Barbara where he discovered his life-long focus in art: the unique character and power of the landscape and land in coastal California. Today, retired from teaching art and living on California’s Central Coast, Kappen remains the “backpack artist” and sets out hiking with no real destination in mind and paint and brushes in hand. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is in collections in the United States, Italy, Japan, and Great Britain. www.larrykappenart.com
