3D Artifact Photogrammetry

One way to preserve artifacts for future study is through 3D Photogrammetry.

PanGIS Senior Archaeologist and Geospatial Data Specialist, Alberto Bello Foglia, MA RPA, created this 3D model.

Although purely decorative, this red pot makes for a great photogrammetry subject! Three sets of photos, for a total of 154, were taken with the pot in different positions, to get complete coverage of the object.

Another fascinating artifact captured with 3D technology by Alberto is this 19th century Mughal Wine Vase. The Mughal (Persian: مغول‎; Hindustani: मुग़ल /مغل, also spelled Moghul or Mogul) are a number of culturally related clans of the Indian subcontinent.
